Position Overview
The Family Services Staff (Bilingual) is responsible for providing direct support and supervision to residents within a federally contracted ICE Short-Term Residential Facility. The role works closely with children, families, and adult residents to ensure a safe, structured, and supportive environment. Responsibilities include resident supervision, family engagement, daily activities, basic care services, documentation, data entry, and case management support functions.
Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions Resident Supervision & Family Support- Provide direct supervision and monitoring of residents throughout the facility.
- Help maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment for children and families.
- Assist with resident orientation and explain facility rules, expectations, and available services.
- Facilitate age‑appropriate recreational, educational, and family‑centered activities.
- Support residents in accessing meals, hygiene supplies, clothing, and other basic necessities.
- Monitor resident movement and participation in scheduled activities.
- Ensure family units remain together when appropriate and in accordance with facility requirements.
- Promote dignity, respect, and cultural sensitivity in all interactions with residents.
- Respond appropriately to resident questions, concerns, and requests for assistance.
- Encourage resident participation in facility programs and activities.
- Support positive interactions among residents while maintaining a safe environment.
- Observe and report resident concerns, behavioral issues, or service needs to supervisory staff.
- Provide general support to residents throughout their stay within the facility.
- Maintain accurate supervision logs, activity records, and resident documentation.
- Enter and update resident information within facility databases and case management systems.
- Assist with resident intake, transfer, discharge, and tracking processes.
- Support case management personnel by collecting, organizing, and maintaining required documentation.
- Review records for completeness and accuracy and report discrepancies to supervisors.
- Generate reports and provide administrative support related to resident services and facility operations.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident information at all times.
- Monitor for safety concerns and report incidents, emergencies, or unusual activity immediately.
- Utilize trauma‑informed approaches and de‑escalation techniques when responding to resident concerns.
- Assist with emergency response procedures and facility drills.
- Complete incident reports and related documentation accurately and timely.
- Escalate medical, behavioral, security, or operational concerns to supervisory staff as appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with Family Services Supervisors, medical personnel, behavioral health staff, operations teams, and facility leadership.
- Communicate resident concerns and service needs to appropriate personnel.
- Support continuity of services during admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Assist in coordinating services for families and children during their stay within the facility.
- Adhere to all confidentiality, reporting, and resident protection requirements.
- Maintain professional boundaries and ethical conduct at all times.
- Comply with all mandatory reporting obligations.
- Follow facility policies regarding resident interactions, favoritism, conflicts of interest, and professional conduct.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, respect, and professionalism.
- High School Diploma or GED required;
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Sociology, Education, or a related field preferred. - Minimum one (1) year of experience working with children, families, vulnerable populations, residential programs, social services, education, customer service, or a related field.
