Join our team at Behavioral Services of Louisiana, LLC, as a Engagement Specialist!! In this role, you will support family engagement, continuity of care, and service stabilization within the Family Support Organization (FSO). This role focuses on intake, reengagement, temporary service coverage, and staff support to help families remain connected to services and achieve positive outcomes. You will serve as
a key resource for families entering services, helps reduce barriers to participation, and supports agency quality improvement and service delivery efforts.
- Conduct intake, outreach, and onboarding activities for newly referred families.
- Help referred families understand Family Support Organization (FSO) and Coordinated System of Care (CSoC) services.
- Provide education on available supports, program expectations, and family-driven services.
- Support families in identifying and strengthening natural supports, community resources, and coping strategies to improve youth functioning at home, in school, and in the community.
- Conduct outreach and re-engagement efforts with families who are difficult to reach or at risk of discharge due to loss of contact.
- Communicate barriers to engagement and collaborate with supervisors to develop solutions.
- Coordinate with referral sources, schools, hospitals, behavioral health providers, Wraparound Agencies, and other service providers.
- Assist families in identifying concerns, strengths, and benefits associated with participation in services.
- Provide temporary coverage for Support Specialists during staff absences, vacancies, or transitions.
- Assist the Support Specialist Supervisor with transitioning families to permanent Support Specialists.
- Support continuity of care and service stabilization during staffing changes.
- Assist with onboarding, mentoring, training, and shadowing of new Support Specialists.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation for all contacts and activities.
- Submit service notes and required documentation according to agency policy.
- Document no-shows, unsuccessful outreach attempts, and barriers to engagement.
- Communicate concerns regarding client safety, crisis situations, medical issues, or other significant changes to appropriate supervisory staff.
- Utilize electronic health record systems and other required technology platforms for documentation and billing purposes.
- Participate in collaborative meetings with Behavioral Services staff, community partners, and natural supports as needed.
- Attend all required trainings, supervision sessions, and staff meetings.
- Maintain knowledge of agency policies, procedures, and service requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience working with children, youth, and families preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage families from diverse backgrounds and build positive working relationships.
- Basic computer skills and willingness to learn agency software systems.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel within assigned service areas.
- Experience in behavioral health, family support, peer support, case management, social services, or community-based services.
- Knowledge of the Coordinated System of Care (CSoC) and family-driven service models.
- Experience facilitating meetings, trainings, or mentoring staff.
