Great new opportunity in the Alexandria area!! We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager/Supervisor to support core accounting operations and provide reliable financial oversight. This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail who can manage month-end activities, maintain accurate records, and contribute to timely financial reporting. The position requires sound judgment, strong technical ability, and the confidence to work independently while collaborating effectively with others.

Responsibilities:

- Lead month-end close activities, ensuring journal entries are prepared accurately and completed on schedule.

- Review and reconcile general ledger accounts to maintain integrity across financial records.

- Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules for internal review and external audit needs.

- Analyze account activity, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues through thoughtful problem-solving.

- Use Excel and integrated business systems to organize data, improve reporting efficiency, and support accounting workflows.

- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather information, maintain documentation, and meet reporting deadlines.

- Support audit processes by providing accurate records, explanations, and requested financial details.

- Identify opportunities to strengthen accounting processes and help advance new initiatives, including practical uses of AI where appropriate.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or comparable relevant experience in a related accounting role.

- At least five years of experience in financial reporting and hands-on general ledger accounting.

- Strong working knowledge of journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close procedures.

- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with integrated ERP or accounting systems such as Syte Line.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities with a high level of accuracy and close attention to detail.

- Clear communication skills, strong organizational ability, and a collaborative, dependable work style.

- Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment, work with limited supervision, and handle sensitive information responsibly.
