Asphalt Milling Supervisor
The Asphalt Milling Supervisor is responsible for leading milling operations on roadway projects. This role oversees daily crew activities, equipment, safety, quality, and production while coordinating with project managers, paving crews, and trucking. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong milling experience who can keep jobs running efficiently, safely, and on schedule in a fast-paced, seasonal environment.
Requirements- 3–5+ years of asphalt milling experience
- Prior supervisory or lead experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of milling equipment, tooling, and job setup
- Ability to read plans, grades, and job specifications
- Understanding of traffic control and roadway safety requirements
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to travel Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana and Iowa
- Ability to work long hours, as required by project schedules
- Valid Driver’s License, preferably Class A
- Supervise and lead asphalt milling crews on multiple job sites
- Plan daily milling operations, including equipment setup, sequencing, and production goals
- Operate or assist with milling equipment as needed
- Coordinate with trucking, paving, grading, and traffic control crews
- Ensure milling depth, slope, and surface quality meet project specifications
- Monitor production rates and adjust operations to maximize efficiency
- Enforce all safety policies, OSHA regulations, and company procedures
- Conduct daily job briefings, safety talks, and equipment inspections
- Train, mentor, and evaluate crew members
- Communicate with project managers, superintendents, and Inspectors
- Complete daily reports, production logs, and time tracking
- Troubleshoot equipment or operational issues in the field
