The Charitable Gambling Manager is responsible for overseeing and reporting all charitable gambling activities (mainly pull tabs) in compliance with state regulations, including Minnesota Gambling Control Board requirements. This role ensures financial integrity, operational efficiency to maximize the fundraising impact for the Alexandria Education Foundation.
Hours per week: 10 – 15 hours per week, flexible scheduling
Pay: $20 - $25 per hour, depending on qualifications
Key Responsibilities- Regulatory Compliance — Maintain full compliance with state statutes, rules, licensing, internal controls, and audit requirements.
- Financial Oversight — Manage gambling accounts, deposits, inventory, cash handling, and monthly reporting; ensure accurate reconciliation and timely submission of required forms.
- Operational Management — Oversee daily pull tab gambling activities; ensure proper and secure handling of games.
- Inventory Control — Track games, serial numbers, product movement, shortages, and disposal according to state rules.
- Vendor & Site Relations — Maintain strong relationships with bar staff, distributors, auditors, and regulatory agencies.
- Reporting & Documentation — Prepare monthly LG100A, LG100C, and other required forms; maintain organized records for audits.
- Board Communication — Provide regular updates, financial summaries, compliance alerts, and expense requests. Upon hire, the gambling manager will be required to become a voting member of the Alexandria Education Foundation.
Skills & Qualifications
- Regulatory Knowledge — Strong understanding of state gambling laws and reporting requirements. A two-day training will be required if not already licensed as a gambling manager.
- Financial Accuracy — Experience with bookkeeping and reconciliation.
- Attention to Detail — Precision in inventory tracking, cash handling, and documentation.
- Problem-Solving — Ability to resolve shortages, compliance issues, or operational challenges quickly.
- Applicants cannot currently be a gambling manager for another organization. The gambling manager must also complete one continuing education class each calendar year (virtual options available).
- Prior work in charitable gambling
, gaming operations, or compliance roles. - Experience with Minnesota Gambling Control Board systems and reporting
- Experience in retail, hospitality, or financial operations
