Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to serve as the Night Custodial Lead at Discovery Middle School. This full-time position is responsible for overseeing the custodial staff during night shifts, ensuring that the school environment is clean, safe, and conducive to learning. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of custodial staff during night shifts to ensure efficient operations.
• Conduct regular inspections of the school facilities to ensure cleanliness and compliance with health and safety standards.
• Assign tasks to custodial team members and monitor their performance, providing training and support as needed.
• Manage inventory and order cleaning supplies and equipment as necessary.
• Develop and implement cleaning schedules and procedures to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
• Respond to emergencies and special cleaning requests, including spills, accidents, and after-event clean-up.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, staff attendance, and supply inventory.
• Collaborate with school administration and maintenance staff to address any facility-related issues or concerns.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols, promoting a culture of safety among custodial staff.
• Foster a positive and respectful work environment, encouraging teamwork and communication among staff.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certifications in custodial management preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in custodial services, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and safety procedures related to custodial work.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Availability to work night shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
• Basic computer skills for record-keeping and communication purposes.

Special Requirements:

• Boilers License within 6 months of being hired.
• Pool license may be required within 12 months of being hired.
• Valid driver's license.

Compensation: $23.28 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
