Location:

Alexandria, MN Pay Rate: $31.50 per hour

Schedule:

Monday-Friday | Second Shift: 2:00 PM-10:30 PM Do you take pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety, and sanitation? We're looking for a detail-oriented Sanitation Specialist who is passionate about keeping our production facility clean, safe, and audit-ready. In this hands-on role, you'll train team members, lead sanitation initiatives, support Clean-in-Place (CIP) processes, and help ensure the highest quality standards are met every day.

Sanitation Specialist Requirements & Qualifications

Previous sanitation experience in food manufacturing, food processing, dairy, beverage, or industrial production environments preferred. Working knowledge of Clean-in-Place (CIP) systems, sanitation procedures, and food safety standards. Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, chemical handling, PPE requirements, and sanitation compliance. Ability to train, coach, and lead employees while promoting a culture of safety and cleanliness. Strong attention to detail with experience conducting inspections, audits, and maintaining accurate documentation.

Excellent communication, organization, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Proficient with manufacturing software or digital production systems (Redzone experience preferred). Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality and safety standards. Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform physical sanitation tasks throughout the shift.

Sanitation Specialist

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Train production employees on equipment cleaning, sanitation procedures, CIP processes, and proper chemical/PPE usage. Lead sanitation shift huddles and coordinate daily cleaning activities to ensure timely completion. Perform equipment cleanliness inspections, sanitation audits, and pre-/post-CIP evaluations. Support and facilitate the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and Operator Care sanitation programs. Troubleshoot sanitation issues and collaborate with QA, supervisors, and production teams to implement corrective actions.

Perform chemical titrations and verify proper labeling, storage, and usage of sanitation chemicals. Maintain sanitation supplies, cleaning tools, and equipment in clean, organized, and audit-ready condition. Coach team members on 5S workplace organization, housekeeping, and food safety best practices. Complete and verify sanitation documentation, including CIP, MSS, peroxide, and cleaning logs. Create and maintain SOPs, One Point Lessons (OPLs), and other sanitation training materials.

Monitor Redzone communications and support continuous improvement initiatives. Perform plant-wide housekeeping and other duties as assigned.
