Salary Range: $25.00 To $30.00 Hourly
OverviewThe Manufacturing Engineering Technician is responsible for managing Engineering Change Requests/Orders from manufacturing, engineering, and customer requests and managing clear and efficient production processes and documentation, designing prototypes and assisting with their assembly in a production setting. The Manufacturing Engineering Technician will work closely with shop personnel to assist in the assembly, troubleshooting and improvements of product and processes, with CAD Technicians to ensure mechanical drawings and electrical schematics are accurate and concise, and assist in the creation and support of assembly and test fixtures while implementing LEAN methodologies and improving and maintaining ERP system information.
Responsibilities- Manage incoming change requests from teams.
- Assist teams with prototypes.
- Assist in the creation of assembly and test fixtures and procedures.
- Validate labor estimates by performing time studies on manufacturing builds.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing equipment failures (tools, machines, and fixtures)
- Participate in continuous improvement program.
- Implement Lean manufacturing and systems throughout the organization.
- Assist with vendor quality on incoming product.
- Troubleshooting product support with customers on issues as they arise.
- Provide technical support for field service personnel.
- Handle new item requests/set‑ups.
- Daily production support.
- Other duties, as assigned.
- Associate’s degree in an electrical, mechanical, or industrial manufacturing discipline and minimum of 1 year of experience in similar role or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Experience with generating and maintaining assembly procedures and quality forms.
- Strong knowledge and practical experience with mechanical design principles
- Ability to develop, read, and comprehend mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Experience managing, repairing, and troubleshooting tools and machines, preferred.
- Experience creating or updating assembly and test fixtures, preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma, preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Power Point
- Good oral and written skills
- Ability to multi‑task and function in a fast‑paced work environment
- Self‑directed and able to prioritize responsibilities to meet deadlines.
- Detail‑oriented with a strong desire to work within a team environment.
