Job Description Position Summary

This position is responsible for maintaining the smooth operation of the Column and Poly Frit manufacturing processes. The NAC Consumables Supervisor leads the team, maintains stock, and supplies DNA synthesis reagents to both internal and external customers. The role collaborates closely with the NAC Consumables Manager to ensure compliance with company procedures and external regulatory requirements. The supervisor serves as the technical expert for all products manufactured by the department and interfaces with QC and QA departments at the Alexandria site and sister LGC sites.

As a people manager, the supervisor oversees a team of employees, drives business results, communicates job expectations, plans, monitors and appraises performance, coaches and counsels team members, and fosters personal growth and talent management.

Essential Functions
  • Manage product and project priorities as directed by the NAC Consumables Manager to reflect changing company and customer needs.
  • Ensure priorities are completed by scheduling employee time off requests and maintenance activities.
  • Verify equipment is functioning and properly maintained.
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate with internal suppliers, production team members, supervisors and managers to maximize use of time and resources.
  • Maintain productive communication with the maintenance team to ensure availability of production equipment.
  • Write and review manufacturing procedures and documents to improve production efficiency, comply with quality and safety standards, and support continuous improvement.
  • Provide effective leadership through performance evaluations, goal setting, active coaching, technical expertise, and enforcement of company policy.
  • Interface proactively with packaging support group and internal customers to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Execute objectives and goals to support a positive, efficient, and motivated team.
  • Serve as team expert for LGC’s inventory management system.
  • Support team operations through manufacturing support and troubleshooting of manufacturing processes.
  • Oversee the safe use of hazardous chemicals in the manufacturing environment.
  • Ensure the availability of raw materials in a timely manner that meets internal and external customer requirements.
  • Research, implement, and maintain equipment as needed to meet production volumes required by end users.
  • Recommend resources to management as necessary, including raw materials, equipment, employees, and production space.
  • Periodically review the team workload and streamline processes as needed.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and clean working space.
  • Provide status reports and updates to the NAC Consumables Manager and Site Director.
Other Duties as Assigned

Respond flexibly and collaboratively to business needs, addressing important corporate initiatives when requested by management.
