** Job Description
** The Registered Nurse (RN) promotes and restores patients’ health by completing the nursing processes, collaborating with Providers along with the multidisciplinary team. This position is responsible for providing physical and psychological support to patients’ friends and family members. The RN possesses skills within their scope of practice and presents with IV skills, strong assessment skills, ability to respond, and lead emergency situations within the clinical setting.
** Essential Responsibilities
*** Nursing Service Delivery
** Meet, maintain, and follow quality measures to support quality improvement
* Ensure efficient and accurate patient care coordination
* Perform all tasks per Provider order within scope of practice or specialty training
* Work in accordance of primary Providers’ clinic schedule
* Possess prior authorization of medications
* Alexandria Clinic Specific
** Prepare and administer injections, immunizations, and medications
* Administer treatments as prescribed by Provider
* Assist in emergent situations with strong knowledge and skill of crash cart and defibrillator
* Submit appropriate charges for services rendered
* Complete timely and accurate documentation
* Patient Care
** Facilitate communication in regards to patient care between patient and Provider and work to be a patient advocate at all times
* Complete thorough documentation of all patient interactions in the electronic medical record
* Effectively communicate with patients, families, and those involved in the patients’ care Specialty Practice
* Employees working in specialty areas will be required to perform procedures specific to that specialty

Cardiopulmonary RN
* Demonstrate the knowledge and competency to do the following procedures:
Stress Echocardiograms, Dobutamine Stress Echocardiogram, Holter/Event Monitoring,  Exercise Stress Test, Transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE), Administer medications orally and IV, provide appropriate education to patients and those involved in their care in regards to the procedure, observe cardiac monitor, specifically monitor for abnormalities and alerts Physicians/Advanced Practice Providers
* Assist with accurate scheduling of patients by reviewing referrals and accurate order completion
* Strong ECG interpretation skills
* Possess strong IV skills
* Lead and respond to emergent situations
* Educate and prepare patients for their testing

*** Graduate of an ADN or BSN school or College of Nursing
* Active and current MN RN Licensure
* BLS
* * Preferred Qualifications
*** Epic experience
* Cardiac monitor experience
* Ambulatory care experience
* ACLS Certified

Skills and Abilities

*** Strong knowledge of medical terminology and techniques
* Utilize knowledge of instruments used for procedures
* Understand basic rooming of a patient
* Strong knowledge of preparing patient and room for procedures, and assisting Provider as needed
* Strong knowledge of Provider practice
* Ability to adapt to a wide variety of working environments with strong flexibility
* Maintain and gain knowledge of medications
* Skill in Microsoft and general computer knowledge
