Quality Assurance Manager

Doherty Career Solutions is partnering with a local Alexandria, MN company as they search to find a Quality Manager. The Quality Manager consults with Top Management to evaluate and determine Quality needs and fulfills those needs accordingly. The Quality Manager is responsible for the supervision of all Quality personnel and Quality requirements throughout the shop.

Qualified candidates should have a strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or AS9100, including experience in auditing or a solid understanding of audit processes. Candidates must also demonstrate the ability to coach, develop, and support employees in a leadership role. Manufacturing experience is strongly preferred, particularly in environments with hands-on production teams. Salary will depend upon experience but range between $75,.

• Leads the Quality department to be sure they are maintaining the highest level of quality products
• Authors, updates, and otherwise maintains the following administrative documents:
  Company Quality Manual, Quality Systems, and Procedures Manual
• Spearheads ISO certification efforts to meet planned deadlines and coordinates activities and procedures necessary to achieve that goal
• Effectively leads the Internal Audit team
• Establishes customer contacts with newly obtained customers to learn of special requirements (procedures, documentation, certification) and ensures they can be and are met
• Receives calls from customers regarding complaints, or rejects and initiates process analysis and/or improvement
• Receives documents and addresses customer rejects and maintains records thereof, including corrective action design and implementation, if any
• Monitors nonconforming material (in house) and reviews records of all scrap, cause, and disposition
• Compiles statistical analyses per customer requests (R & R, X-bar, histograms…). Maintains records of these analyses, evaluates and determines improvement methods if any are needed
• Ensures maintenance of calibration records and documents
• Directs Quality personnel in calibration procedures and does timely calibration on needed equipment
• Trains new employees to basic inspection process
• Performs other duties as assigned

• Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from 2-year college or technical school; or 2 years of related experience and/or on-the-job training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
• Ability to effectively present information to top management
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as solid geometry and trigonometry
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
