Alexandria, MN (preferred) - consideration may be given to other office locations. Candidates should be willing to work on-site to support collaboration, teamwork, and knowledge sharing.

Widseth is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Archaeologist to support both office-based and field projects. This role requires strong technical expertise, creativity, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders. • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and right-of-way specialists to address environmental and cultural resource considerations.
• Coordinate with federal and state agencies to ensure compliance with permitting requirements.
• Conduct a range of field activities, including:
  • Archaeological surveys
  • Testing and excavation
  • Surface collection
  • Monitoring
• Prepare archaeological proposals and technical reports, including Phase I/Class I documentation.
• Provide professional cultural resource recommendations to support project planning.
• Plan, organize, and lead Phase III/Class III field projects of varying sizes across multiple states.

• Master's degree in Archaeology or a related field.
• Archaeological field experience preferred.
• Proficiency in ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Online for fieldwork and data management.
• Experience with federal and state cultural resource permitting.
• Familiarity with GPS equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

• Salary range: $75,000 to $95,000 (depending on experience)
