Job Title

Auto Body Technician.

Job Description

As an Auto Body Technician at Gerber Collision & Glass, you will provide an exceptional customer experience through meticulous assessment and quality repair of vehicles to pre‑accident condition. You will work in alignment with team members to achieve repair facility KPIs and act as a Brand Ambassador.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
  • Plan repair work and prepare cost estimates for customers.
  • Use tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair vehicle sections.
  • Hammers out dents, dimples, and other minor body damage; mix and apply filler resins when needed.
  • Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
  • Remove damaged sections and replace with new or aftermarket parts; replace or repair glass and windshields as required.
  • Replace or repair interior parts as needed.
  • Weld and attach parts and prepare and repaint vehicles with factory‑specified or equivalent paint.
  • Attempt to complete work orders within labor time guidelines and inspect vehicles after repair.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Successful completion of technical school program or a 3‑year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
Required

Skills and Abilities
  • Read job orders and work with minimal supervision.
  • Collaborate with other repairers within an auto body shop.
  • Understand methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies.
  • Use tools required for the trade.
Other Requirements
  • Work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
  • Lift up to 30 pounds at times.
  • Visually inspect vehicle damage in various weather conditions.
  • Bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.

Compensation

$70,000 – $125,000+ per year based on experience.
