This position with Duininck Concrete offers the opportunity to inspect, diagnose, and repair fleet equipment including semi tractors, tandems, tridems, ready mix trucks, forklifts, and other heavy equipment. May occasionally travel from one destination to another to repair and maintain equipment.
The Role:
- Operate and inspect all models of vehicles, equipment, and components to determine needed repairs.
- Discuss equipment problems with supervisor and/or others as needed.
- Repair, replace, calibrate, adjust and/or rebuild components.
- Test repaired equipment for proper operation.
- Inspect, add and/or change fluids and lubricants; check and replace worn parts and perform other routine service and maintenance.
- Perform welding and fabrication work as needed.
- Review and stay current on equipment manuals, service bulletins and other resources; attend training sessions.
- Assist with ordering parts, materials and supplies needed for repair and maintenance.
- Record work performed, time and materials used for each job.
- Complete timecards and maintain related work logs and records.
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools, equipment, motor vehicles and heavy equipment.
- Maintain orderliness, cleanliness, and safety.
- Must be self-motivated and able to plan for future preventative maintenance schedules.
- Must be a team player and follow directions, and guidance from management.
- Must provide own tools needed to complete tasks.
- Work indoors and occasionally in outdoor weather conditions.
- Work in a moderate noise environment.
- Work with gasoline and diesel engines, electrical motors.
- Work with vibrations
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift, stoop, crouch, crawl, stretch, sit, reach, and grasp.
- Extended work hours
What we Look For:
- Individuals who work safely and have the courage to speak up if you see unsafe behavior or conditions.
- One year certificate in mechanics or 3
-6 months related experience and/or training - Basic computer skills
- Basic math skills.
- Write, read and understand documents in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
