Bus Assistant

We are seeking a caring and dependable Bus Assistant to support student safety, well‑being, and positive behavior on district transportation routes. This role plays a vital part in ensuring a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment for all students during transit.

• Ensures Student Safety and Well-Being
  • Supervises and manages student conduct while on the bus.
  • Monitors student behavior, enforcing district guidelines to maintain a safe and orderly environment.
  • Addresses minor discipline issues promptly and respectfully, and reports serious concerns to the Transportation Safety and Behavior Facilitator.
• Supports Student Needs
  • Assists students with needs that may arise during the route.
  • Fosters a positive and supportive atmosphere to help all students feel safe and valued.
• Maintains Open Communication
  • Works closely with the Transportation Safety and Behavior Facilitator.
  • Provides daily updates on student behavior, progress, and any problem‑solving efforts.
• Commitment to Professional Growth
  • Attends required meetings, training sessions, and in‑services.
  • Stays current on best practices in student management and safety protocols.

Hourly Rate: $21.20 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)

Hours: Vary depending on route and assignment
