$65,780.00 - $80,080.00 Annually (depending upon experience)

JOB TYPE:

Full Time (typically 50 hours per week, overtime hours are regularly available)

SCHEDULE:

Shifts begin between 5:00 AM to 6:00 AM, typically Monday through Friday

Shift start & length may vary by route & location, 4 or 5 day shifts available

JOB DESCRIPTION

Drivers in this position operate heavy-duty trucks with front or rear load lift attachments. Using specialized equipment on their truck, they pick up and service residential or commercial containers filled with trash, recyclable material, or yard waste. Containers may weigh in excess of 1,000 pounds and, at times, may require the maneuvering of wheeled containers to a pick-up staging area. They then transport the material to a disposal, transfer or recycling facility when the truck has reached the legal load capacity.

Safe driving is crucial when traveling and maneuvering the truck in high traffic / congested roadways, driveways, alleyways, and lots around other vehicles and under highlines. A high level of skill, especially regarding backing maneuvers, is essential to being successful as a commercial driver.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Must successfully complete and pass applicable pre-employment background check, driving record review, physical and drug screening
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements and demands of the position
  • Must reliably commute to the designated work location, and may relocate before beginning employment
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 2 years or more of relevant work experience in transportation, driving or logistics is preferred
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered adequate
  • Commercial Driver’s License is required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Ability to operate large, heavy-duty vehicles
  • Ability to drive safely and learn new processes
  • Ability to work a consistent work schedule, as punctuality is required
  • Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing
  • Ability to hear at a level sufficient to communicate effectively with others
  • Ability to operate a tablet / basic computer skills
  • Maintains a strong work ethic with a focus on safety
REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS & TRAINING
  • Ability to provide or acquire a current Class A or Class B Minnesota Commercial Driver’s License including air brakes, no restrictions
  • Ability to provide or obtain a current, valid DOT Health Card (MEC)
  • As assigned or apparent
