STGi is recruiting candidates for our Payroll Specialist vacancy located in Arlington, VA. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates with an accounting degree to grow their accounting skills in payroll to support our Corporate Payroll Team.
Under limited supervision, work with the payroll team processing multi‑state, semi‑monthly payroll using Costpoint and ADP Workforce Now.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe candidate will be responsible for administration of all aspects of payroll for assigned contracts. Major responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Review/audit new hire folders for accuracy and verify any changes
- Process terminations and PTO payouts
- Calculate retro payments
- Prepare check requests and wire documentation for any out‑of‑cycle payments
- Maintain online timesheets
- Enter timesheet corrections/reclasses in Costpoint
- Assist employees with training in ADP iPay and Deltek Time and Expense timesheets
- Answer all payroll related questions via phone or email
- Work with other departments as needed to guarantee accuracy of payroll
- Issue payroll reports as needed
- Track changes in contracts due to modifications
- Review Payroll Register for accuracy
- Reconcile ADP labor to Costpoint each pay period
- Work on other special projects/tasks as requested
- Perform other related duties as directed within the project guidelines established
- Should have an understanding and working knowledge of payroll
- Detail oriented and self‑starter working in fast paced environment
- Automated software and computer experience necessary
- Familiarity with government contracting compliance and policy helpful
- Communication – oral, interpersonal and written
- Demonstrated capability in one or all of the following: evaluation, quantitative, audit and investigative research and resolution
Bachelor's Degree in accounting recommended but not required.
Minimum two years previous payroll experience and accounting experience preferred.
Extensive knowledge of Deltek, Costpoint, Deltek Time and Expense and ADP Workforce Now necessary.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
