Pay: $75,000–$85,000 annually (depending on experience)

Position Summary

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their growing accounting team. This position is responsible for supporting the month-end close process, preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, and assisting with financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting foundation, excellent analytical skills, and a desire to grow within a collaborative finance organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and post monthly journal entries in accordance with GAAP.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve reconciling items.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close activities to ensure timely financial reporting.
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and monitor cash activity.
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
  • Assist with fixed asset accounting, depreciation schedules, and prepaid expense tracking.
  • Analyze financial data and investigate variances.
  • Prepare supporting schedules for internal and external audits.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements and management reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and internal controls.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance accounting efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to resolve accounting issues and improve financial processes.
  • Perform additional accounting projects and ad hoc reporting as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
  • 1–3 years of accounting experience (internship experience may be considered).
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
