About American Bankruptcy Institute
The American Bankruptcy Institute is the nation’s largest association of bankruptcy professionals, made up of nearly 10,000 members in multi-disciplinary roles, including attorneys, auctioneers, bankers, judges, lenders, professors, turnaround specialists, accountants and others. Founded in 1982, ABI plays a leading role in providing congressional leaders and the general public with non-partisan reporting and analysis of bankruptcy regulations, laws and trends. ABI is often called on to testify before Congress, analyze proposed bills, and conduct periodic briefings for congressional committees and legislative staff. ABI is engaged in numerous educational and research activities, as well as the production of a number of publications both for the insolvency practitioner and for the dedicated to research and education on matters related to insolvency.
Summary/ Objective
The Meeting Planner is part of the professional events team to plan and execute successful meetings and events. The association is committed to providing excellent customer service and creating quality experiences for its members.

- Experience in promoting and marketing conferences preferred.

- Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Office, webinar software, CRM systems, project management software, as well as digital marketing software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Teamwork Orientation & Collaboration Skills
Travel approximately 30% of time. Mostly US based but some international travel can be required.
RequiredEducation and Experience
Bachelor's degree required.
3-5 years professional meeting planning experience (non‑profit or association experience preferred).
PreferredEducation and Experience
Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) preferred, but not required.
Work EnvironmentThis position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies.
