Transportation Engineer

SZ PM Consultants, Inc. is a multidisciplinary engineering and consulting firm providing project management, construction oversight, and data analytics support services throughout the Washington, DC metropolitan region. We deliver innovative and data-driven solutions that enhance infrastructure performance and operational efficiency across transportation and public works programs.

We are seeking a full-time transportation data engineer to support long-range access planning, project controls, and communication initiatives for a major infrastructure program. The successful candidate will play a critical role in data analytics, process improvement, and performance reporting to support decision-making and enhance operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and adept at presenting data and insights in a clear and meaningful way for stakeholders. This is a full-time position based in Washington, DC.

• Support leadership with research, analysis, and communications related to long-range scheduling, access planning, and performance tracking.
• Conduct both quantitative and qualitative analyses to identify business process improvements and root causes of operational challenges.
• Produce high-quality documents and visual materials including process maps, dashboards, presentations, policies, and procedures.
• Gather, organize, and evaluate diverse datasets through surveys, workshops, interviews, and task analysis.
• Document processes, data requirements, risks, and system gaps to inform business and technical improvements.
• Develop communication materials and reporting tools for internal distribution and stakeholder engagement.
• Present findings and dashboards to management teams in a clear and concise format suitable for decision-making.

• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications, including advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
• Experience developing dashboards, conducting statistical or performance analyses, and creating professional presentation materials.
• Excellent writing, communication, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with Long-Range Access Planning (LRAP) preferred.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in business process improvement, data analysis, and project reporting.
• Experience with process mapping, risk analysis, and developing data tools preferred.
