Private Family in Alexandria, VA Seeking a Chef / Household Manager
Position: Full-Time, Live-Out Chef / Household Manager Schedule:

• Monday-Saturday, approximately 9:00am- 7pm or 10AM - 9PM ( two weeks on, two weeks off)
• Salary: $$120,000 - $130,000 Start Date: ASAP Relocation: No - local candidates only

A warm and welcoming private family located in Alexandria, VA is seeking a dedicated, experienced, and professional Chef / Household Manager to join their household. They value discretion, reliability, and a proactive individual who will be a long-term fit and take pride in running a highly organized, well-functioning home. Children: Two children 12 and 15 years old Home Size: Private residence Pets: One well-behaved 16 lb dog (Opal) Household Staff: Additional household staff currently employed Responsibilities
Food & Meal Preparation

• Prepare high-quality, healthy meals with efficiency and organization
• Confidently manage three different diets (Kosher, Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Vegan), often preparing separate meals. 3 separte people have different restrictions
• Comfortable following a simple kosher-style set of rules (no pork or shellfish, no mixing meat and dairy, avoiding cross-contact)
• Plan menus, shop for groceries, and maintain kitchen organization and inventory
• Create a proper dinner-table experience, including table setting, presentation, and reinforcing good table manners

Household Management

• Oversee daily household operations and ensure the home is consistently guest-ready and travel-ready
• Manage vendors, service providers, errands, household supplies, and general problem-solving
  • Including coordinating repairs, communicating with property managers, and sourcing household items
• Maintain household systems, schedules, and inventories

Family & Personal Support

• Support daily household rhythms involving the principal and children
• Chauffeur children as needed (school drop-offs, pick-ups, activities, appointments)
• Provide personal assistance including reservations, bookings, errands, and logistics

Pet Care

• Provide full pet care for Opal, including coordinating vet visits, grooming, medications, and ongoing care management

Requirements

• Culinary training or extensive private cooking experience
• Minimum of 7-8 years of experience in private service or household management
• Proven experience managing staff, vendors,
• Comfortable working with teenagers and dogs
• Strong organizational and technology skills
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Authorization to work in the United States
• Valid passport and ability to travel if needed
• Excellent, verifiable references
