Location: Alexandria, VA

Compensation: $70,000 to $85,000 per year

Position Summary: The Specialist is a key member of the SHRM Multimedia team, responsible for the creation, execution, and delivery of engaging video and audio content for internal communications, marketing, and product launches.

Responsibilities
  • Multimedia Content Creation – Develop, script, and produce high‑quality multimedia content (audio/video/still photography) for internal communications, marketing, launches, and educational programs.
  • Generative AI Integration – Use Generative AI platforms to produce video and animation, either for full video production or as elements within traditional production workflows.
  • Project & Stakeholder Management – Coordinate project intake, gather requirements, and deliverables with internal stakeholders and other multimedia team members, reviewing project plans and timelines.
  • Live Event Production – Set up, operate, and troubleshoot audiovisual equipment for live and on‑demand streaming events, both onsite and in studio; oversee technical arrangements and conduct post‑production reviews.
  • Team Operations Support – Manage and organize video libraries in Vimeo, assist with equipment storage, testing, maintenance, and update media catalogs.
Requirements
  • Education – Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience – Minimum 3 years of progressive editing and production experience, with demonstrated ability to apply branding and strategy in execution; experience with Generative AI platforms for video production.
  • Knowledge – Proficiency in digital cinema, DSLR and other camera operations, lighting, audio engineering (studio/field), chroma keying, and advanced skills in Adobe Premiere, After Effects, and related editing suites.
  • Skills – Skilled in Microsoft Office and project management tools (, Jira); ability to translate industry trends into actionable recommendations; strong creative storytelling and collaboration skills.
  • Physical Requirements – Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer; frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, handling documents, and operating office equipment.
Work Environment

This position follows a hybrid work schedule:
Tuesday through Thursday in office, with Monday and Friday remote. Employees must be available during core business hours for meeting and collaboration requirements.
