The Front Desk team is the first point of contact for customers at City recreation and aquatics facilities. As a Recreation Leader I – Front Desk, you’ll provide excellent customer service, process transactions, and support daily facility operations. This is a great opportunity for individuals who are friendly, detail-oriented, and enjoy working with the public in a fast-paced environment.
The OpportunityFront Desk staff work during peak hours—primarily evenings and weekends—at recreation centers, pools, and other public spaces. Shifts are available year-round or seasonally, with varied schedules based on facility needs. In this role, you will:
As a Front Desk team member, you help ensure that every visitor feels informed, supported, and welcomed. Your attention to detail and commitment to service excellence help create a smooth and positive experience for everyone who uses our spaces and programs.
What You Should BringThe ideal candidate is customer-focused, organized, and comfortable using computers and point-of-sale systems. You should enjoy working with the public, communicating clearly, and handling multiple tasks at once.
RequirementsHigh School Diploma and one (1) year of related experience or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. First Aid training.
At least six months of experience in a customer‑facing role (e.g., front desk, retail, reception, or recreation setting);
Basic computer and point of sale system proficiency; and First Aid/CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
- Experience working in recreation, fitness, or aquatics environments
- Ability to speak a second language (Spanish or Amharic preferred)
- Availability to work evenings and weekends
- Comfortable working in fast‑paced indoor or outdoor settings with variable weather
- Able to stand or sit for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.

This position requires successful completion of a criminal background check and/or drug screening prior to employment.
