Job DescriptionSt. Louis Catholic School in Alexandria, VA is hiring a qualified Literature Teacher for Middle School students in grades 6‑8 for the 2026‑2027 school year. The successful candidate will teach Literature, supervise a grade 8 homeroom, and develop engaging, differentiated lessons with written plans. The role requires excellent classroom management skills, hands‑on activity facilitation, and timely grading of submitted work and trimester report cards.
Responsibilities- Teach literature to students in grades 6‑8.
- Supervise a grade 8 homeroom.
- Develop, plan, and deliver differentiated, engaging lessons.
- Facilitate hands‑on learning activities.
- Provide timely feedback through grading and trimester report cards.
- Bachelor’s degree (education degree or related subject area preferred).
- VCEA or Commonwealth of Virginia teaching certification, or working toward it.
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
- Excellent classroom management and differentiation skills.
