Duties
Provide strategic leadership in Classical Education for a globally positioned education system by developing and implementing short- and long-term, research-based goals aligned with DoDEA's strategic priorities to improve student achievement.
Serve as the DoDEA Classical Education SME for leading systematic review of Classical Education curriculum, standards, and assessments to develop a comprehensive, clearly articulated curriculum for Classical Education.
Create and facilitate professional learning packages for staff regarding best practices in Classical Education aligned with DoDEA's instructional expectations.
Teach Classical Education courses as needed to ensure the successful launch of new Classical Education courses in a virtual environment.
Provide coaching to teachers of Classical Education courses in the pedagogy of Classical Education.
Establish and report on SMART goals to evaluate program impact and drive continuous improvement.
Serve as a subject matter expert in curriculum, instruction, and assessment, and reports progress on policy updates and strategic initiatives to leadership regarding Classical Education.
Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) duties in the selection, procurement, provisioning, and implementation of instructional resources for Classical Education programs.
Provide information to headquarters, region, and district leaders on all Classical Education issues ensuring a mutual understanding of content and pedagogy.
Other responsibilities related to the work of the Classical Education ISS as assigned.
