The Out of School Time Specialist (OSTS) will oversee the development and implementation of the academic components for all Out of School Time programs. The OSTS will support the implementation, monitoring, and reporting requirements of the 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) grant. This individual coordinates and monitors the implementation of the grant's academic requirements, ensuring program activities align with grant goals and district academic priorities.

The role partners with school-based instructional staff to support the effective implementation of tutoring, homework assistance, and other evidence-based academic supports that meet grant outcomes.

This position is funded through the 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) grant . Continued employment is contingent upon the annual award and availability of grant funding. This position is a 12 month position and includes benefits.

Knowledge, Skills and abilities:

  • Working knowledge of out-of-school-time programming
  • Experience working with K–12 academic programs and an understanding of student assessment practices, academic standards, progress monitoring, and data used to support student achievement.
  • Experience with 21 st CCLC program implementation
  • Excellent organizational skills and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to compile and analyze data for presentation and reporting
  • Excellent technology skills including Microsoft Office, Google products and various divisions implemented program management and financial platforms.
  • Ability to collect and maintain information as needed
  • Ability to embrace new tasks and learn new skills as needed through changing technologies and best practices
  • Energetic team player who works well in collaborative situations

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the collection of school data of LINK Club applicants and manage the selection of students based on LINK Club rubric.
  • Develop relationships with LINK Club academic leads, school principals and administrators with the goal of ensuring a bridge between day school academic goals and after school academic support for each site.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and instructional staff to develop action plans based on data analysis findings.
  • In collaboration with school sites/academic leads, develop activities designed to increase and improve educational outcomes in an after school setting. While ensuring that all programs meet ACPS academic program quality expectations and industry best practices.
  • Coordinate ongoing technical training for academic staff.
  • Address quality and logistical issues directly with site coordinators as it relates to LINK Club academic programming
  • Plan and lead the training for all academic program activities developed for LINK Club.
  • Evaluate the success of academic program goals and recommend improvements to enhance effectiveness.
  • Plan, schedule and attend meetings and events as needed
  • Conduct regular site visits with LINK Club teachers as needed
  • Work collaboratively with other ACPS offices to ensure comprehensive and quality program services.
  • Manage and analyze the academic data for LINK club students.
  • Progress Monitoring:
    Develop and implement systems to monitor and track the progress of students and instructional interventions. Provide ongoing feedback and support to teachers and administrators regarding data-driven decision making.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
