Position Summary

The Director, Curriculum and Learning Programs serves as a hands-on learning professional responsible for managing the design, development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of assigned NRMCA learning programs, curriculum projects, certifications, credentials, and workforce development initiatives.

Working under the direction of the Vice President, Learning and Development, this role translates VP-approved priorities into high quality learning experiences that strengthen workforce capabilities, advance professional development, and support member success across the ready mixed concrete industry.

The Director manages assigned curriculum development projects, collaborates with subject matter experts, supports certification and credentialing initiatives, applies instructional design best practices, evaluates program effectiveness, and maintains the quality and consistency of assigned learning assets and programs. The position operates within the strategy, standards, budget, and portfolio direction set by the Vice President. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role where the Vice President sets the strategy, standards, and direction of the learning portfolio, and this position builds, implements, and improves the programs that bring that strategy to life in support of NRMCA's educational mission.

Primary

Responsibilities

Learning Program Execution and Management

  • Manage the design, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of assigned learning programs, certifications, credentials, certificate programs, and leadership development offerings under the direction of the Vice President.
  • Translate the learning strategy and workforce development priorities set by the Vice President into effective learning solutions, development plans, and delivery schedules for assigned programs and projects.
  • Develop learning objectives, assessments, facilitator guides, participant materials, eLearning content, and supporting resources.
  • Ensure assigned learning programs align with adult learning principles, instructional design standards, and member needs.
  • Keep assigned learning offerings current, relevant, and high-quality through ongoing content maintenance, updates, and revisions.

Curriculum Development and Maintenance

  • Coordinate curriculum review and update cycles for assigned programs to ensure content remains accurate, current, and aligned with industry needs.
  • Maintain and apply curriculum development templates, style guides, and production processes consistent with the standards set by the Vice President.
  • Partner with subject matter experts, instructors, committees, and stakeholders, as assigned, to develop and improve learning content.
  • Ensure consistency across assigned learning programs, delivery formats, and instructional materials.
  • Support the integrity and quality of assigned certification and credentialing pathways.

Certification and Credentialing Support

  • Support the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of assigned certification, credentialing, and certificate programs.
  • Support assessment development and validation efforts.
  • Ensure assigned learning pathways and supporting materials align with program objectives and credentialing standards.
  • Monitor certification and credentialing trends and surface recommended improvements to the Vice President where appropriate.

Faculty and Subject Matter Expert Engagement

  • Develop productive program-level working relationships with instructors, faculty, state associations, and subject matter experts.
  • Guide SMEs through curriculum development and content review processes.
  • Support instructor onboarding, readiness, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Promote effective instructional practices and learner engagement techniques.
  • Gather and analyze instructor and participant feedback to improve program quality.

Learning Technology and Digital Learning

  • Serve as the day-to-day administrator of the Learning Management System (LMS) for learning content, assets, course builds, and learner-facing configuration.
  • Identify and recommend to the Vice President digital learning tools and solutions that improve learner engagement and accessibility.
  • Support the effective use of learning technologies within assigned programs and projects.
  • Partner with operational support staff to ensure accurate learner records, reporting, and system functionality.

Evaluation, Analytics and Continuous Improvement

  • Implement and administer evaluation processes that measure learner satisfaction, learning outcomes, and program effectiveness.
  • Analyze program-level enrollment, completion, certification, and evaluation data to identify trends and opportunities.
