About MTSI's Skill Bridge Program
MTSI is committed to supporting transitioning service members through the DoW Skill Bridge Program, providing an opportunity to gain meaningful civilian work experience during the final months of active duty. This program is designed to bridge the gap between military service and the civilian workforce through structured training and hands‑on, mission‑aligned experience.
As a Skill Bridge Fellow, you will be embedded within real teams supporting active programs that contribute to national security and some of the nation’s most technically complex challenges. Throughout the experience, you will gain exposure to MTSI’s employee‑first culture, receive mentorship from experienced professionals, and build the skills needed to successfully transition into a civilian career.
This is a structured training experience designed to support your transition from military service to a civilian career. While many fellows are considered for full‑time opportunities, offers are based on performance and business needs. Participation is subject to command approval and DoW Skill Bridge eligibility requirements.
What to expect as a Skill Bridge Fellow at MTSIDuring the fellowship, you will contribute to meaningful training activities while developing practical, transferable skills in a civilian environment. You will gain exposure to how complex programs are executed, how teams collaborate across functions, and how your military experience translates into industry.
You will work alongside cross‑functional teams, participate in meetings and program reviews, and support structured training activities tied to real‑world projects. Along the way, you will receive mentorship, feedback, and professional development support to help guide your transition.
ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities will vary based on alignment, but fellows will support a mix of training, coordination, and execution‑focused activities. This may include exposure to technical, programmatic, or operational efforts depending on your background and interests.
- Supporting project and program activities, including planning, execution, and tracking of deliverables
- Assisting with coordination of schedules, resources, and team activities
- Contributing to reports, briefings, and program documentation
- Supporting communication across teams, stakeholders, and leadership
- Identifying risks, dependencies, and opportunities for process improvement
- Participating in ongoing technical, analytical, or operational initiatives as part of structured training
- Active duty service member eligible for the DoW Skill Bridge Program
- Participation approved (or in process) through command channels
- Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Experience leading or supporting projects, programs, or operational efforts
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

This experience is designed to prepare you for long‑term success in the civilian workforce while providing meaningful exposure to mission‑driven work.

- Starting PTO accrual of 20 days PTO/year + 10 holidays/year
- Flexible schedules
- 6% 401(k) match with immediate vesting up to $9k annually
- Semi‑annual bonus eligibility (July and December)
