Superior Skilled Trades is partnered with a company seeking a BIM Coordinator to support the implementation, coordination, and maintenance of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes across active construction projects.
This role works closely with the VDC Manager, project teams, and trade partners to ensure model accuracy, coordination efficiency, and adherence to BIM standards.
The BIM/VDC Coordinator will play a key role in model management, clash detection, coordination workflows, and interdisciplinary collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
Position SummaryThe BIM Coordinator is responsible for supporting BIM execution, managing federated models, and ensuring coordination across architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines.
This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders to maintain model integrity and support field operations.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in implementation and enforcement of BIM Execution Plans (BEPs/PXPs).
- Manage and maintain federated BIM models across multiple disciplines.
- Perform clash detection and internal QA/QC using Navisworks or equivalent tools.
- Track, document, and distribute coordination issues to project stakeholders and trade partners.
- Support coordination meetings, including agenda preparation and follow-ups.
- Ensure models comply with internal BIM standards and project requirements.
- Assist with model-based quantity takeoffs, phasing, and logistics.
- Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, designers, and subcontractors.
- Maintain model version control and proper file management practices.
- Support field teams with model access, visualization, and troubleshooting.
- Assist in developing BIM workflows, templates, and best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2–5 years of experience in BIM coordination or VDC-related roles.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
- Strong understanding of construction documents and coordination workflows.
- Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and MEP systems.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Understanding of LOD standards (BIM Forum / ISO 19650).
- Experience with BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud.
- Familiarity with Dynamo, point cloud workflows, and laser scanning.
- Experience supporting construction-phase BIM coordination.
- Understanding of VDC deliverables (4D/5D modeling).
- Experience with architectural BIM scopes (drywall, exterior panels, prefabrication systems).
- Ability to guide BIM modeling deliverables from LOD 100–500.
- Ability to work in both office and construction site environments.
- Capability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
