The Alexandria, VA office is hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer. This role involves managing an Electrical team (senior, mid‑level, entry‑level), collaborating with multidisciplinary design teams, and leading design, analysis, planning, and facilities assessments for a broad range of projects. Successful candidates are licensed Professional Engineers with at least ten years of experience in building electrical and infrastructure systems.
Key Responsibilities- Manage team project assignments, staffing forecasts, and performance evaluations.
- Develop training sessions and mentoring for team members.
- Design site and facilities electrical systems, including interior/exterior lighting and telecommunications.
- Design low and medium‑voltage electrical systems and produce plans/specifications for all design phases.
- Provide construction phase project services and perform necessary calculations (short circuit, voltage drop, loads).
- Lead value engineering, prepare proposals, and contribute to business development and sales goals.
- Track project progress, budget, and quality metrics; ensure QMS and quality control compliance.
- Assist in the development and execution of project win strategies and pursue new work opportunities.
- Sharing Information: convey timely information to stakeholders.
- Critical Thinking: evaluate information and make unbiased decisions.
- Executing Strategy: plan tasks and overcome obstacles to achieve goals.
- Fostering a Learning Culture: encourage growth and learning.
- Identifying Talent: maintain awareness of internal and external talent needs.
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Licensed PE in Virginia (other registrations via NCEES accepted).
- At least 10 years of related experience.
- Extensive knowledge of National Electrical Code.
- Experience with USACE UFC, UFGS, IBC, IECC, IFGC, ASHRAE 90.1, NFPA, and other building/energy codes.
- Design experience in healthcare, municipal, institutional, transportation, and industrial facilities.
- High‑performance sustainable system and solar/PV system design experience.
- Central utility plant and emergency power systems experience.
- Proficiency in Revit, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and power system analysis software (Easy Power, SKM, ETAP).
