Test Engineer - Journeyman

Location:

Alexandria, Virginia (Onsite)

Role Overview

An organization is seeking a Test Engineer to support a joint interagency task force. The Test Engineer will ensure the reliability, functionality, and interoperability of counter UxS (C-UxS) systems and technologies. This position requires expertise in test planning, execution, and analysis, with an emphasis on Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS) technologies. The Test Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, document, and resolve issues, ensuring that all systems meet operational requirements and standards.

Key Responsibilities

* Assist in the development of detailed test plans, cases, and scripts to ensure thorough coverage.

* Perform and monitor manual and automated tests.

* Conduct regression and integration testing for seamless system operation.

* Identify, document, and track defects with precision.

* Collaborate effectively with development teams for swift resolutions.

* Support the integration of advanced C-UAS technologies.

* Evaluate and optimize C-UAS system performance in real-world scenarios.

* Prepare detailed reports with test results, defect summaries, and recommendations.

* Maintain accurate and up-to-date test documentation.

* Identify and implement process enhancements.

* Maintain awareness of emerging threats and C-UAS innovations.

* Verify adherence to standards, regulations, and operational requirements.

* Participate in audits and reviews to maintain compliance.

* Work seamlessly with developers, system architects, and cybersecurity experts.

* Facilitate effective communication and teamwork across departments.

* Engage in agile development and testing practices.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience:

BA/BS with 4+ years; AA/AS with 8+ years; or HS/GED with 10+ years.

Technical

Skills:

Strong understanding of UxS/C-UxS capabilities, including sensors, detection systems, and mitigation techniques. Strong knowledge of test methodologies and processes. Proficiency with test management tools (e.g., Jira, Test Rail) and MS Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with test measurement and diagnostic equipment.

* Experience briefing senior level military and civilian leaders.

* Knowledge of base layered defense and related operations.

* Familiarity with cybersecurity vulnerabilities.
