Mid-Level Water and Wastewater Engineer

ERG is seeking talented and motivated individuals to join our expanding water and wastewater engineering team. The role involves collaborating with the U.S. EPA, state agencies, and other organizations to address critical challenges in water quality, resources, and infrastructure.

• Provide technical assistance to underserved utilities across the country to access funding and design, build, and maintain sustainable, resilient water infrastructure systems and provide clean water to their communities.
• Assess and promote innovative water and wastewater treatment technologies and develop resources to reduce barriers to adoption.
• Evaluate design, costs, and environmental impacts of potential infrastructure projects.
• Prepare preliminary engineering reports.
• Conduct sampling and survey programs, perform advanced data analysis of environmental sampling results, and develop concise analysis reports.
• Develop methods to control discharges of PFAS and other emerging contaminants that impact human health and the environment.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in chemical, environmental, or civil engineering.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 (college transcripts required).
• 3 to 8 years of experience.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Proficiency in spreadsheets and other software programs to compile, analyze, and present data.
• Strong time‑management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and critical thinking, and the ability to develop quality client‑ready deliverables.
• Team player and motivator with the ability to foster cooperation.
• Ability and interest in traveling.

• Understanding of water and wastewater treatment and municipal system design.
• Familiarity with environmental regulations and permitting requirements.
• Technical writing experience.
• Statistical software packages (e.g., R) and coursework in statistics.
