Duties
Technical expert and principal advisor in all aspects of the administration of an effective program.
Reviews and interprets a wide range of payroll law, policy, regulation, directive, and DCPS Payroll Office Advisory Releases, regarding the payroll systems and procedures.
Reviews, verifies, and processes a variety of payroll and time and attendance data impacting pay, electronic fund transfer (EFT), payroll deposits, leave, taxes, benefits, other deductions, and master employee record (MER) information.
Interfaces verbally and on-line with DFAS payroll technicians, to resolve payroll issues such as missing time, leave conversion, special pay, or miscellaneous inquiries.
Independently audits historic transactions affecting an individual employee or class of employees; prepares corrections and documentation to DFAS and CPAC to correct pay and leave errors.
Provides training to subordinate staff on new systems or modification to existing ones.
