As an Electrical Engineer, you will be part of a multidisciplinary engineering and construction team responsible for developing, integrating, and delivering engineering solutions for complex electrical projects within the mission-critical sector. This role involves producing a wide range of project deliverables, including drawings, specifications, product selection, installation sequence planning, and commissioning testing/commissioning scripts.
Responsibilities include:
- Familiarity with NEC, NESC, IEEE, IEC, and local building codes.
- Develop and produce conceptual design to construction documents, detailed equipment layout, single and three-line diagrams, grounding, and feeder routing with limited supervision by Senior Engineers, including the design or integration of the following:
- Normal power medium and low voltage distribution systems
- Emergency power generation and distribution systems, including UPS
- Coordinate device locations with other trades, including mechanical, plumbing, or other (Architectural, Lab, Medical, Kitchen, etc.), including interpreting equipment requirements
- Project specifications for all equipment and installation methods
- Ability to design control wiring diagram and electrical interlocks schemes for protecting electrical equipment.
- Able to size wire, conduit and overcurrent protection for HVAC and power applications.
- Able to perform voltage drop calculations, calculate raceway and cable tray fill.
- Properly size equipment, including, but not limited to switchboards, UPS and generator systems, distribution panel boards and motor control center loading.
- Develop specifications and installation details of construction materials and equipment.
- Knowledge and understanding of schedule constraints and information requirements to produce all electrical deliverables.
- Develop and create Method of Procedures (MOP), and Sequence of Operations (SOP) to support construction execution effort
- Documentation of design work in AutoCAD and REVIT in 2D and 3D platforms
- Provide support of construction activities, including but not limited to, responses to Requests for Information, review of project equipment submittals, and technical support of operations management.
- Research, prototype, and develop emerging technologies to implement the latest and best-in-bread capabilities to meet the customers' emerging needs.
- Manage your time effectively and support multiple projects concurrently.
Qualifications include:
- ABET accredited Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or higher required with 7+ years of experience.
- 7+ Years of Power/Electrical Engineering and UPS system design
- Strong oral, written and presentation skills.
- Ability to present to a group of peers and engineering leaders.
- Demonstrate working with multidisciplinary and cross functional teams.
- Demonstrated time management and organization skills working independently to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
- Preferred - Fundamentals of Engineering certification or Professional Engineer license
