Radio Frequency Engineer

Leidos seeks a Radio Frequency/Spectrum Engineer to design, analyze, and optimize RF systems supporting mission-critical national security and IT programs. You will model RF links, perform interference and propagation studies, develop spectrum allocation plans, and ensure regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include lab and field testing, data collection, and troubleshooting RF issues across complex environments. Collaborating with cross-functional engineering and cyber teams, you'll document designs, support proposals, and present technical findings.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze RF links and wireless systems for mission-critical applications
• Perform spectrum planning, allocation, and interference analysis
• Conduct propagation modeling and link budget calculations
• Plan and execute RF lab and field testing, including data collection and validation
• Troubleshoot RF performance issues and implement mitigation strategies
• Ensure compliance with FCC/NTIA and other spectrum regulations
• Develop technical documentation, reports, and presentations
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering, cyber, and program teams
• Support proposal development with RF/spectrum concepts and estimates
• Contribute to continuous improvement of RF tools, models, and processes
