We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee financial operations and ensure the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of all accounting and reporting functions. This role plays a critical part in supporting strategic decision-making by delivering timely financial insights, strengthening internal controls, and driving continuous process improvement. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, construction industry experience, and proven leadership abilities.

• Financial Operations Management Oversee all aspects of daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and month-end/year-end close.
• Financial Reporting & Analysis Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, management reports, and analyses to support leadership decision-making.
• Work-in-Process (WIP) Reporting Assist the CFO with preparation of WIP reports, reconciliation to the general ledger, and detailed job-level analysis.
• Budgeting & Forecasting Maintain and monitor budgets, prepare variance analyses, and provide insights on financial performance against goals.
• Change Orders & Job Costing Maintain and/or supervise entry of change orders and related budgets in the accounting system; ensure accurate job cost tracking.
• Compliance & Taxation Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and multi-state sales and use tax filings. Support audits and government information requests.
• Process Improvement Evaluate and enhance financial processes, systems, and controls to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
• Team Leadership Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of approximately five accounting professionals; promote high performance and professional growth.
• Internal Controls Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
• Special Projects Participate in ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives as assigned by the CFO.
• Other Duties Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (MBA preferred).
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
• Construction industry experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of job cost accounting, construction billing, and percentage-of-completion accounting.
• Experience with construction accounting software and medium-to-large ERP systems.
• Solid understanding of GAAP, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
• Proven leadership and team development capabilities.

• Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
