Financial Analyst, Financial Consultant
Kearney is currently seeking a Financial Readiness Analyst to support development of budget-related injects, track financial aspects of training and readiness events, and help ensure fiscal realism and data quality in exercise environments. This candidate needs to be local to the Alexandria, Va area.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting in the design of budget execution–focused injects and financial scenarios for training and readiness events
- Reviewing exercise financial data (e.g., notional budgets, transactions, resource usage) for accuracy and realism
- Tracking and summarizing how units respond to financial injects during events
- Supporting development of after‑action observations related to FM processes, controls, and documentation
- Helping ensure that financial scenario materials and outputs are consistent with audit‑ready practices (e.g., traceable, documented, and supportable)
- Supporting AAR development and analytic reporting and ensuring financial data accuracy and readiness
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
- 10+ years supporting DoW or Air Force operations
- Familiarity with DoW or Air Force FM processes (Financial operations) (budget formulation, execution, or funds control)
- Must have an active Interim Secret Clearance (or higher, such as Secret, Top Secret or TS/SCI) to be considered for this role (requires U.S. citizenship)
- DoW FM Certification, CDFM, CGFM, or CPA (or progress toward)
- Experience supporting FM training, inspections, or readiness activities
- Experience reviewing financial documentation for completeness and supportability
- Experience supporting readiness or exercise financial constructs
The expected salary range for this position is between $103,000 and $180,000. This range is representative of base pay only and does not include straight time pay for hours worked over 40 per week, company contributions towards paid benefits, and/or bonuses. Actual compensation (meeting or exceeding the range) will be determined based on specific experience, education, work location, clearance level, and other factors permitted by law.
This position is eligible for bonuses (when applicable).
