AVP FP&A | Virginia
Oliver James is partnering with an insurance carrier to appoint a an AVP of FP&A into a newly created position within their finance team.
The business writes approximately $200m in annual premium, operates across all 50 states and has around 200 employees nationally. The majority of their business sits within Term Life, alongside A&H, with further growth and product expansion actively being explored.
Reporting directly to the CFO, this individual will take ownership of budgeting, forecasting and corporate planning, working closely with senior stakeholders across the organization.
The Role- Own budgeting, forecasting and corporate planning
- Partner with the CFO and senior leaders across the business
- Produce financial analysis to support strategic decision-making
- Improve existing planning and forecasting processes
- Take proactive ownership of the FP&A function and drive the process forward
They are looking for someone with 10+ years of FP&A / Corporate Finance experience who has previously owned a budgeting and forecasting process. Insurance experience would be preferred, particularly Life Insurance, although P&C, Health and broader Financial Services backgrounds will be considered. The key is someone who is proactive, comfortable taking ownership and capable of operating in a hands-on environment. Experience with Prophix would be beneficial but isn't essential.
WhyConsider It?
This is a newly created position within a finance team of approximately 13 people and provides significant exposure directly to the CFO. For someone looking to join a smaller insurance organization where they can genuinely own the FP&A process and have visibility across the business, it's an interesting opportunity.
Relocation support may be considered for candidates with particularly relevant Insurance experience.
