Kearney is seeking a Senior Consultant Grant Specialist to join our team! The Senior Consultant position will be responsible for performing project activities and preparing and reviewing project deliverables. Additional skills and responsibilities are defined below:
- Demonstrate professionalism and competence in the client’s environment
- Execute the day-to-day accounting and analytical activities of the engagement, conduct fieldwork daily
- Demonstrate awareness and knowledge of Federal Government’s financial and management responsibilities
- Perform with accuracy and completeness the audit resolution methodology
- Perform Grants oversight support
- Perform internal controls reviews
- Manage the Grants Lifecycle from Pre-award through Completion
- Familiarity and use of Grants systems and Automation
- Assists in drafting and preparing project deliverables
- Ability to follow a test plan, perform attribute testing, draft findings, and draft reports
- Must be self-motivated, and results-oriented
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 6 years of experience with 1 year in a leadership role.
- BA/BS degree from an accredited college/university.
- Single Audit Expertise
- Strong knowledge of federal grant regulations (2 CFR 200) and applicable agency-specific requirements.
- Experience working with all activities in the grants lifecycle from pre-award to closeout.
- Ability to reconcile grant accounts and ensure allowable, allocable, and reasonable costs.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and review grant applications, budgets, and supporting documentation.
- Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies for grant programs.
- Proficiency with grant management systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to obtain and maintain a security clearance (requires U.S. citizenship)
- Ability to travel up to 25%
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Grants Management Specialist (GGMS)
- CGMS certification with experience in performing work throughout the grants lifecycle.
- Experience with Education Grants
- Experience with multiple funding streams (federal, state, local)
- Strong service orientation, with an understanding and appreciation of the customer requirements.
- Utilize technology to share knowledge with team members, develop skills, and continually learn.

The expected salary range for this position is between $103,000 and $180,000. This range is representative of base pay only and does not include straight time pay for hours worked over 40 per week, company contributions towards paid benefits, and/or bonuses. Actual compensation (meeting or exceeding the range) will be determined based on specific experience, education, work location, clearance level, and other factors permitted by law.
This position is eligible for bonuses (when applicable).
