Job Title
Duties
Exercise final authority for the full range of personnel actions recommended by subordinate supervisors.
Develop speeches and presentations, representing the Director's views.
Represent the Director in face-to-face and telephonic meetings and discussions with headquarters and field staff members.
Plan, control the agenda for, and administer the cabinet meetings of key staff managers, and other special, conferences, and/or seminars.
Meet with high ranking management officials, including the Assistant Secretary of Defense, Congressional liaison, and news media representatives.
Serve as the Director's principal liaison with non-DoWEA officials and functionaries, to include senior DoW political leaders, and Congress and staff.
Requirements Conditions of Employment
Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Requirement.
Proof of U.S. Citizenship required.
Direct deposit of pay is required.
Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (TS/SCI) clearance eligibility.
One year supervisory probation period may be required.
This position is designated Special Sensitive (Top Secret) and requires a Tier 5 investigation favorably adjudicated.
This position is a Testing Designated position subject to applicant testing and random drug testing. You will be required to sign a DA Form 5019 requiring participation in random drug urinalysis testing.
You may be required to sign a transportation agreement.
Required to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, upon entering the position and annually, in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R, Joint Ethics Regulation, dated 17-Nov-2011.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes:
Meeting, coordinating, and communicating with external government or non-government agencies or senior/high ranking officials (such as Federal, State, or local officials, Congressional Representatives, political or military leadership, news media representatives, or local business officials) to communicate agency priorities and operational directives; developing or implementing programs and policies to improve productivity, effectiveness, or efficiency for a geographically dispersed organization; planning and organizing support operations for a large organization and reviewing multi-year budget plans and/or providing recommendations on re-allocating resources to support short or long-range objectives.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement:
Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14). Additional information
