We are searching for a Certified Athletic (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). join our dynamic athletics department and sports medicine program. The ideal candidate is a skilled, compassionate professional dedicated to the health and well-being of student-athletes and committed to collaboration within a caring school community. The Athletic Trainer will work closely with another full-time ATC, the Director of Health Services, and the Athletics staff to deliver exceptional medical care and injury prevention for our Saints athletic program.

This is a 10-month position with benefits. We are looking for someone to start immediately through the end of the spring athletic season (late May). Regular hours are approximately 2:00 p.m. until the conclusion of practices and competitions (7:00/8:00 p.m.), with flexibility based on the athletic schedule. Some weekend coverage required. Some local travel may be required.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive athletic training services, including prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries and conditions.

  • Coverage for practices, home competitions, and select off-campus events as assigned.

  • Maintain accurate injury documentation and medical records using the Magnus Health system.

  • Collaborate with the Director of Health Services, team physicians, and local medical providers to coordinate care and manage return-to-play decisions.

  • Follow the school’s emergency action plans (EAPs) for athletic venues and participate in EAP practice drills.

  • Educate student-athletes, coaches, and families on injury prevention, concussion awareness, and safe training practices.

  • Support CPR/AED and health-related training for coaches and staff.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Applied Knowledge:
    Broad understanding of sports medicine, athletic injuries, and treatment protocols.

  • Decision-Making:
    Ability to think critically and make independent clinical judgments within state licensure guidelines.
    Attention to Detail:
    Strong organization and documentation skills to ensure accurate medical records.

  • Interpersonal

    Skills:

    Effective and professional communication with student-athletes, coaches, parents, and medical professionals in high-pressure situations.

  • Organization:
    Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Athletic Training or related field.

  • BOC Certification required; eligible for Virginia licensure.

  • Red Cross Instructor certification for First Aid/CPR/AED (or willingto complete instructor training).
