Job Description
The Data Analytics Architect leads the design, integration, and governance of data systems that enable advanced analytics, operational insights, and decision support for a government UAS/C-UAS program. The role builds and maintains the data architecture required to fuse sensor feeds, intelligence sources, operational telemetry, and system performance data into secure, scalable, and mission‑ready analytics environments. This position collaborates with engineers, operators, analysts, and cybersecurity teams to ensure data solutions align with mission needs, technical constraints, and security requirements.
SpecificResponsibilities Data Architecture & Engineering
Design and maintain enterprise data architectures supporting UAS/C‑UAS mission data, including sensor streams, radar feeds, RF signatures, telemetry, and intelligence datasets.
Develop data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and ingestion frameworks for structured, semi‑structured, and unstructured data.
Architect cloud, hybrid, or on‑premises data environments compliant with government security and accreditation standards.
Implement data models, schemas, and metadata structures optimized for analytics, machine learning, and real‑time operational use.
Enable advanced analytics capabilities, including threat detection models, pattern analysis, system performance metrics, and predictive analytics.
Partner with data scientists and analysts to operationalize models and integrate them into mission workflows.
Develop dashboards, analytic tools, and visualization frameworks that support leadership, operators, and interagency partners.
Ensure analytic outputs are accurate, timely, and aligned with mission priorities.
Establish data governance policies, data quality standards, and lifecycle management processes.
Ensure compliance with classification guidelines, OPSEC, cybersecurity requirements, and cross‑domain data transfer rules.
Coordinate with cybersecurity teams to implement secure architectures, access controls, and monitoring.
Maintain authoritative data catalogs, lineage documentation, and audit trails.
Work closely with engineering, intelligence, and operational teams to understand mission needs and translate them into data requirements.
Support test events, demonstrations, and field operations by ensuring data capture, storage, and analysis capabilities are mission‑ready.
Provide technical guidance to leadership on data strategy, emerging technologies, and system modernization.
Collaborate with interagency partners, industry vendors, and integrators to align data architectures across systems and organizations.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
Extensive experience designing and implementing data architectures in technical, defense, aerospace, or government environments.
Proficiency with modern data engineering tools and frameworks (e.g., SQL/No
SQL databases, data lakes, streaming platforms, cloud services).Strong understanding of analytics, machine learning workflows, and operational data requirements.
Experience with secure system design, cybersecurity principles, and government accreditation processes.
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance (Secret, TS/SCI, or program‑specific requirement).
Experience with UAS, C‑UAS, radar systems, RF analytics, or sensor fusion.
Familiarity with DoD or DHS data standards, tactical data links, and operational architectures.
Experience with real‑time data processing, edge computing, or distributed systems.
Knowledge of geospatial data, intelligence data formats, or multi‑INT fusion.
Background in Dev Sec Ops , containerization, or infrastructure‑as‑code.
