Description
This Department of War enterprise data and analytics program delivers mission‑critical capabilities that enable leaders across the Department to make faster, better‑informed decisions using trusted data dos Digital Modernization sector is seeking an experienced Release Train Engineer to support the delivery, enhancement, and adoption of enterprise data and analytics products used across multiple DoD organizations.
In this role, you will work alongside government partners, engineers, and other industry teammates to translate operational and strategic requirements into scalable, production‑ready solutions. You will contribute directly to product planning, execution, and continuous improvement, helping to ensure capabilities are delivered efficiently, aligned to mission priorities, and positioned for sustained success.

Primary Responsibilities- Serve as the Release Train Engineer (RTE), facilitating execution across Agile Release Trains (ARTs).
- Lead and coordinate Program Increment (PI) Planning, ensuring alignment of teams, dependencies, and delivery objectives.
- Facilitate ART‑level ceremonies including Scrum of Scrums, System Demos, and Inspect & Adapt workshops.
- Track and manage program‑level risks, issues, and dependencies, ensuring visibility and resolution.
- Monitor and report on Agile execution metrics, including burndown charts and program performance indicators.
- Ensure alignment between product management, engineering, Dev Sec Ops , and system integration teams.
- Support continuous improvement of Agile processes, team performance, and delivery predictability.
- Facilitate communication and coordination across multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Remove impediments and escalating issues impacting program delivery.
- Support integration of Agile delivery with Dev Sec Ops pipelines and system lifecycle activities.
- Promote adoption of SAFe principles, Agile best practices, and Lean delivery methodologies.
- Support readiness and execution of system releases across development, test, integration, and production environments.
- Provide reporting and status updates to program leadership and Government stakeholders.
- Active TS/SCI clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline and 8‑12 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree in a related field and 6‑10 years of relevant experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience leading Agile teams or programs in a SAFe or large‑scale Agile environment.
- Experience serving as a Scrum Master or Release Train Engineer in Agile or SAFe environments.
- Experience facilitating Agile ceremonies across multiple teams and coordinating program‑level execution.
- Experience managing risks, dependencies, and cross‑team coordination in large‑scale programs.
- Experience working with Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, or similar).
- Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience operating within SAFe or Agile frameworks supporting enterprise systems.
- SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) or SAFe Agilist (SA) certification.
- Experience supporting large‑scale Dev Sec Ops and cloud‑based programs.
- Experience coordinating delivery across software, data, and platform teams.
- Experience supporting DoD or Federal programs.
- Experience with Agile reporting, dashboards, and program metrics.
- SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE), SAFe Program Consultant (SPC), or equivalent Agile certification.
