Leidos is seeking an Installation Technician to partner on a large enterprise IT contract. The Installation Technician will lead the team that is responsible for end‑user technology refresh installation support of existing hardware, software, system configurations and new system initiatives to ensure that the organization’s information technology infrastructure is operating securely, reliably and efficiently. This individual will work in a team environment to ensure mission needs are met and ensure the functionality of capabilities for customers.
Primary Tasks- Responsible for installation, configuration, decommission and support of the customer’s end‑user devices. Manage install team while communicating across teams and with customers and Leidos program managers/project managers. For entire projects, responsible for personnel and project management coordination during site installs. Assign personnel to various projects, direct their activities, and evaluate their work. Manage entire projects spanning multiple technical areas, working to achieve key project/program objectives and deliverables.
Provide primary interface with contractor support service groups. - Provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
- Provide installation of and troubleshooting support for desktops (thin and thick clients), printers, monitors, KVMs, phones, scanners.
- Ensure great cable management.
- Deploy a wide variety of new hardware, software, and the upgrade of existing installations.
- Confirm required security posture on all network equipment in accordance with DoD and local command mandates and requirements, including updates, STIGs, IOS upgrades, and other basic network security requirements.
- Prepare and maintain a wide range of documentation for processes and procedures related to computer systems and operations.
- Schedule installs without interrupting business workflow.
- Understand, implement, and follow processes in accordance with current policies and procedures.
- Mentor/lead junior team of installation technicians, as needed.
- May serve as a team or task lead.
- May coach and provide guidance to less‑experienced professionals.
- Must be able to work independently to be the primary customer interface, manage time effectively, prioritize problems, and report.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interface with military officials, managers, and technical teammates across multiple areas.
- Extensive knowledge of PC/network communications hardware/software in a multi‑protocol environment.
- Expert knowledge of IT and network security best practices and protocols and ability to apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts.
- Candidate must, at a minimum, meet DoDM 8140.03 (previously DoD 8570) – IT System Admin Intermediate certification requirements (Cloud+, GICSP, SSCP, Security+ CE, GSEC, or higher).
- Candidate must have a Bachelor's degree with 4 years of relevant experience, Master’s degree with 2 years, Associate's with 6 years, or High School Diploma with 8 years.
- Due to the nature of the government contracts we support, US Citizenship is required.
- An active TS/SCI with polygraph is required for this position or TS/SCI and willingness to obtain a poly.
- Potentially up to 25% worldwide, majority in continental U.S.
