Job Description
Ensures the stable operation of the in-house computer software systems and network connections. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network software and communication links. It also analyzes and resolves end-user software program and connectivity issues, provides end-user training, and manages requests for access to JAMMEX via the DLA Account Management Provisioning System (AMPS). The role requires recommendations on technology direction to align with business vision, local and remote maintenance support for operational systems at multiple locations, general maintenance, upgrades, and new installations of servers and applications.
It applies advanced technical knowledge of application networking, load balancing, fault tolerance, vulnerability management, and ensures that the system remains available, secure, and efficient for authorized users.
The role is remote; however, the DC area is preferred due to meeting requirements.
Duties / Responsibilities- Set up (provision) accounts for authorized users.
- Manage the security functions of the system.
- Perform backups and verify their success.
- Review system logs and notify the ISSM of any unusual activities.
- Prevent users from performing actions that could degrade system security.
- Remove accounts and privileges for users who have left the organization or whose privileges have been revoked.
- Disable inactive accounts.
- Perform software installations as needed.
- Configure and maintain operating system parameters.
- Experience with Drupal, JBoss, and Solr.
- Seven (7) years of progressive experience in the field of Information Processing, including six years specialized in hardware/software solutions and four years of hands-on experience installing, configuring, maintaining, and resolving issues with various software.
- Applicable application administrator certifications per the DLA Approved Cybersecurity Computing Environment (CE) list (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Server+, Citrix, Load Runner, Oracle Infrastructure, Okta, Red Hat Systems Administrator, SAP Systems Administration).
- U.S. citizenship.
- IA Level: IAT II Certification.
- Seven (7) years of progressive experience in Information Processing (six years specialized, four years hands-on as above).
- Occasional travel.
- Active Secret Clearance required (IT-I - Critical Sensitive).
