Database Administrator
Candidate works in coordination with the University’s IT Enterprise Application Services (EAS) group. The role involves operating closely with programmer analysts, administrative offices, and Database Administrators to support institutional goals of providing and framing informed decision‑making within the environment.
ResponsibilitiesOperate closely with University programmer analysts, administrative offices and Database Administrators to support institutional goals of providing and framing informed decision‑making within the environment.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or two years’ work experience in the IT field (or equivalent combination).
- Technical experience with the Ellucian Banner system, preferably the student module.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL report‑writing tools, Oracle tools, SQL, PL/SQL, Linux, and shell scripting.
- Experience working with data related to students, Advancement, Finance, and interfaces with external systems.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact confidently with expert end‑users and technical team members, and commitment to thorough documentation.
- Critical thinking and decision‑making to provide consistent support to customers’ issues and concerns within autonomy under supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in compliance with federal or state laws, and university policies and procedures.
