Test Analyst (Network/Cyber)
Our organization is seeking a Test Analyst focused on network and cyber analysis to support the Joint Interagency Task Force 401 (JIATF-401) program. This role is central to a fast-moving, adaptable task force responding to evolving drone threats. The position will involve collecting, correlating, analyzing, and visualizing network, cyber, and operational test data to assess the performance, interoperability, and security posture of Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS) technologies.
This is an analyst-heavy role focused on developing policy, tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), and documenting lessons learned.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, aggregate, and analyze network, cyber, RF, and operational test data from C-UAS technologies, sensors, and command and control systems.
- Utilize data integration and analytics platforms like Maven Smart System (MSS) and Palantir, along with Power BI and Python, to conduct network analysis and security assessments.
- Analyze network traffic, packet captures, system logs, and telemetry to identify trends, vulnerabilities, and operational impacts.
- Develop dashboards, data visualizations, and technical reports to communicate network performance, operational effectiveness, and mission impacts to leadership.
- Leverage artificial intelligence and machine learning to accelerate log analysis, anomaly detection, and threat identification.
- Analyze security events, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing results to identify risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with engineering, cyber, and operational teams to develop comprehensive test assessments and technical recommendations.
- Support test planning by defining data collection requirements, instrumentation needs, and analytical methodologies for network and cyber evaluations.
- Produce technical documentation, after-action reviews, and operational assessments to support acquisition decisions and capability development.
- Focus on doctrine, policy, analysis, and coordination to generate reports and other products for an operational mission.
Required Qualifications
Experience:
BA/BS with 4+ years of relevant experience; AA/AS with 8+ years; or a High School diploma/GED with 10+ years.
- Demonstrated experience in analyzing network performance, cybersecurity events, system logs, or operational test data.
- Experience with enterprise data integration and analytics platforms such as Maven Smart System (MSS) or Palantir.
- Experience developing dashboards and interactive visualizations using Power BI or similar business intelligence tools.
- Experience analyzing packet captures, firewall logs, endpoint telemetry, or security information and event management (SIEM) data.
- Proven ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in dynamic mission environments.
- Background in an operational context, familiar with doctrine or high-level coordination.
Technical Skills
- Working knowledge of Python for data analysis, scripting, and automation.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, network protocols, and security principles.
- Strong proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite for developing technical documentation and reports.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, or Homeland Security organizations.
- Prior military experience, particularly with a background in base defense, counter-UAS, surface warfare, aviation, or maritime defense.
- Familiarity with C-UAS command and control networks, tactical communications, and network-enabled sensor architectures.
- Experience supporting developmental test and evaluation (DT&E) or operational test and evaluation (OT&E).
- Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST RMF or Zero Trust Architecture.
- Experience with analysis tools like Wireshark, Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, or the Elastic Stack.
- Experience with UAS platforms that involves building, programming, or troubleshooting drone systems.
