IT Project Manager, IT Consultant
As Deputy Chief Information Officer (DCIO), you'll serve as the principal advisor to the USPTO's Chief Information Officer and the Under Secretary for Intellectual Property and Director of the United States Patent and Trademark Office on the application of information technology (IT) to improve business processes and outcomes.
You'll help lead and manage the OCIO organization and be ultimately responsible for the development, implementation, information security, maintenance, enhancement, and operation of USPTO's information technology and data assets.
As DCIO, you'll provide operational and tactical leadership, oversight, guidance and direction for planning and managing OCIO and information technology across the USPTO. You'll provide particular emphasis on day-to-day IT operations execution and administrative oversight and management. You'll also represent the Chief Information Officer to the OCIO, USPTO, United States Department of Commerce, legislative and policy-making bodies, and various work groups and committees composed of governmental, public, and industry group stakeholders.

A $25,000 recruitment bonus may be authorized for new federal employees in alignment with federal regulations and a signed 1-year service agreement.
The physical worksite for this position is located in Alexandria
, Virginia
. Presence at the Alexandria, VA campus is required for this role, as it includes on site functions that must be performed in person.
Position may be eligible for situational telework in accordance with agency policy/business unit discretion. The agency currently allows for 52 hours of telework per calendar year.
