Cloud Innovation Solution Engineer
Lead cloud initiatives for the United States Coast Guard at C5
ISC in Alexandria, VA, designing and implementing cloud infrastructure that supports critical operations.
- Design and develop scalable, resilient, and secure cloud solutions across AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform.
- Create reference architectures, design patterns, and technical standards for cloud implementations.
- Mentor and guide development teams on cloud-native application design and deployment.
- Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and assess their impact on organizational goals.
- Drive adoption of Dev Ops practices, infrastructure as code, and automation frameworks.
- Lead large‑scale cloud migration projects from planning through execution.
- Assess legacy systems and design modernization strategies including containerization and microservices.
- Develop migration methodologies and ensure minimal disruption during transitions.
- Facilitate customer onboarding and implement a consistent pathway to cloud adoption.
- Optimize application performance and reliability in cloud environments.
- Design secure cloud architectures implementing zero‑trust principles and defense‑in‑depth strategies.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI‑DSS, etc.) and regulatory requirements.
- Implement identity and access management solutions and security monitoring frameworks.
- Conduct security assessments and remediate vulnerabilities in cloud environments.
- Partner with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including development, operations, security, and product management.
- Present architectural designs and recommendations to executive leadership.
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of experience in an IT discipline (experience considered in lieu of degree).
- Excellent customer service skills and experience in a customer‑facing position.
- Minimum 12+ years of administration experience with cloud‑based applications (MS O365, SharePoint, Azure AD, AWS).
- Experience with UiPath a plus.
- Experience administering Windows Server and related services.
- Strong understanding of Active Directory, Azure AD, SAML, and related standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with UiPath, Ansible, AWS console, Elastic, AWS, Azure, Jira, Confluence, Git, Bitbucket, and SaaS offerings.
- Experience onboarding customer log‑data from AWS and Azure to on‑premise or cloud‑based analysis environments such as Elastic or Splunk.
- Ability to obtain an Entry of Duty (EOD) Public Trust.
- Operational and day‑to‑day administrative support functions, including troubleshooting, change and problem management processes.
- Support AWS Cloud deployed applications (deployments, patches, security checks, and maintenance).
- Provide support and troubleshoot AWS deployed applications.
- Guidance in developing and optimizing administrative processes and procedures.
- Work with SMEs and Security team in defining secure‑based cloud architecture.
- Create and update standard operating procedures and operational processes.
- Windows Server creation, configuration, upgrade, migration, and patching.
- Clearance: must obtain Public Trust; up to TS/SCI acceptable.
- Must hold at least one of: MCSE (Server), Certified AWS Sys Admin, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified Developer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Dev Ops Engineer, AWS Certified Advanced Networking, AWS Certified Security, Azure Developer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect.
