Senior Web Designer & Project Manager

A senior-level web designer and project manager is needed to support NSF OLPA digital communications and outreach, tackling on-site work at NSF headquarters in Alexandria, VA. This contract role hinges on NSF contract award and requires the ability to obtain a Public Trust security clearance. The position combines hands‑on design leadership with cross‑functional project coordination to ensure accessible, standards‑compliant web experiences.

• Lead web design and development efforts for NSF external and internal websites.
• Manage web-related projects, priorities, and schedules.
• Advise NSF staff on web design best practices, accessibility, and usability.
• Ensure compliance with US Web Design System, Section 508, and plain language standards.
• Coordinate work across designers, developers, and content contributors.

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; degree in computer science or related field preferred.

• At least three (3) years of experience working in a Drupal environment.
• Experience leading small teams performing web design services.
• Comprehensive knowledge of HTML and web accessibility requirements.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.
